Best Newcomer Sydney Comedy Festival 2019
Nominated Best Newcomer Melbourne International Comedy Festival, 2021.
As seen on Galas at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (2022 & 2023), Sydney Comedy Festival (2019, 2021, 2022-24), Just For Laughs Australia (2022).
Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow 2021-23.
Join the live audience for the filming of Chris Ryan’s 2024 Festival show, Good-O in her home town of Canberra! This is a chance to show your support for Chris, her comedy and for live gigs and it would mean the world to Chris to sell out both shows, not to mention that it will go some way to helping her pay for this extravaganza!
Chris will film the same show, back to back, in case she stuffs anything up the first time. Come to one or both shows and take detailed notes of where she went wrong so you can point it out to her afterwards (DON’T DO THAT).
This is Chris’s best show yet, and she should know, she has written and toured four new hour-long festival shows nationally since 2020. Described by the Sydney Morning Herald as “a distinctive, vital voice” and in Good-O: “Ryan has an understated style, but her writing is sharp and spiky as she winningly turns her ire on laughing yoga, motivational speakers and Instagram gurus.”
The world and everyone in it has reduced Chris Ryan to eye rolls and sighing. This is a show about reaching 50 and realising life is a constant learning journey even though learning was your least favourite thing about school. Chris looks at people who are great and those who suck as well as the majority of us, who are a bit of both. From motivational speakers to that one irredeemable f@ckhead in all of our lives, can she reach some kind of conclusion about it all?Probably not. But you will laugh heaps, unless you hate swearing and cynicism.
