Canberra Comedy Club – September 2026

September Comedy Club features Michael Hing
Michael Hing is one of Australia’s sharpest comedians and most versatile broadcasters—equally at home hosting TV, commanding a radio mic, or killing it on stage.
He’s hosted a string of TV shows including The Project (TEN), Celebrity Letters & Numbers (SBS), Good Game (ABC), and the acclaimed docuseries Where Are You Really From? (SBS). He’s a regular on comedy panel shows like Guy Montgomery’s Spelling Bee and Spicks & Specks, both of which he has lost.
On stage, Michael’s stand-up has earned him serious credentials – he was handpicked as the support act for both Marc Maron and Jimmy O. Yang on their Australian tours.
But broadcasting is where Michael truly thrives. He’s the co-creator and host/DM of Dragon Friends, Australia’s biggest Dungeons and Dragons podcast, and hosts Free To A Good Home (a podcast about the internet’s strangest classifieds – mostly free horses and unwanted engagement rings). He also hosts Mornings on Double J and is a regular host on ABC local radio, building on his years of experience as one half of the iconic triple j drive show Hobba & Hing.
Michael’s political comedy featured regularly on SBS’s The Feed, where his videos racked up over 20 million views and won an Australian Writer’s Guild Award for Best Comedy Writing. He also briefly tried to run for the Senate in 2019 before SBS’s lawyers made it very clear that what he was doing was illegal. Smart, fearless, and endlessly creative, Michael Hing is a force across every medium he touches.
Completing the Comedy Club lineup is Makedonka, Jeremy Smith, and MC Carlo Ritchie
