Comedian
Dayne is a peculiar comedian.

He claims to have “courageously” given up a promising career as a computer game programmer when he was fired from his job in late 2008, deciding instead to lend his sharp wit and intellect to a steady life of comedy and disappointment. When asked if money was a motivating factor for his decision, Dayne replied:

“No, I’m not about the money. If anything I’m about not being about the money, you know? When I’m rich, I don’t want everyone thinking I did all this just for the cash and bitches.”
Dayne recently returned from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where he received an exceedingly complimentary review from the Australian Comedy Review.
“Dayne Rathbone performed a brilliant character piece that was timid, emotionally stunted and rather creepy… He had the crowd in stitches and was the highlight of the show.”
When it was pointed out that the Australian Comedy Review website was registered in Dayne’s name, he was forced to address a flood of criticism.
“That’s all just hearsay. I hear you say it, or you hear me say it, or we both hear somebody else saying it to this other guy who already overheard it from this drunk guy muttering it to himself. At the end of the day we’re just a bunch of guys hanging out and saying and hearing a bunch of stuff and trying to have a good time.”
Dayne’s performance was also reviewed by the independent online publication, Chortle.uk,  who were somewhat less flattering in their estimation.
“Dayne Rathbone’s piece de resistance was handing around cock-and-balls line drawings, so set your expectations accordingly. His teasing of a clearly embarrassed audience member who he dragged up on stage was uncomfortable to watch; while his own mock-shyness didn’t do anything to raise the energy of this late night showcase.”
Dayne’s disgruntled response can be read in a comment below the review.

Dayne opened his first headline show (Ordayned Revelations) by singing and dancing along to the entirety of Madonna’s ‘Like a Prayer’ while a bewildered audience looked on. Asked about his peculiar style of performance, Dayne remarks:
“Being subject to my unique comedy stylizings is akin to one’s first experience of colonic irrigation; strange and unnatural, yet delightfully warm and cleansing.”
Strange and unnatural indeed.
